Nuk’s New Trendline Collection {Giveaway Closed}

Nuk, one of the top leading baby care product brands, has a new line of bottles, pacifiers, learning cups, and snack bowls with attractive new designs for boys and girls! As a fan of Nuks products, Im glad to be able to share my thoughts on a few of these new releases in the Trendline Dots collection. I was sent a bottle, two pacifiers, and a learning sippy cup to try out. First, the bottle. Ive been nursing since Isaac was born, so I rarely use bottles; however, theyre good to have on hand. My experience with the 10-ounce Trendline Dots Bottle I received has been limited to a few times, once when I pumped and left Isaac with my mom for awhile with the milk and the bottle ready to go should Isaac get hungry. That wasnt really a success he didnt drink at all and apparently was not…

When Babies Get Together…

My friend Erin and I have babies pretty much the same age I think her son, Owen, is 2 or 3 weeks older. The other day we got together and put our little guys down on the floor to see how they would interact. This is their first meeting since theyve been mobile (doing more than just sitting). It was so funny to watch! They grabbed each others clothes, tried to mouth each other (Isaac has no teeth but Owen has quite a few so we kept an eye on him, haha), and even smacked each other. Repeatedly. Ive never seen Isaac go at anything like he was that other baby! And Owen was just as entertained doing the same thing to Isaac. I just want to know, what goes on in those little brains when they see another baby? Is it jealousy, curiosity? A combination of the two? And…

Learning the Alphabet and Numbers with Interactive Games

Many kids grasp educational concepts easier with hands-on learning activities. I was one of those kids. Nothing bored me more than sitting at a desk staring at a piece of paper that tried to explain a concept to me. Especially if it had anything to do with math, my nemesis. Lucky for me, I was homeschooled by a very patient and loving mom who took the time to try to find different ways of teaching me the things I needed to know. She did the same successfully for my sister, who absolutely hated reading when she started out learning. And my mom didnt even have the resources we have today! Im planning on homeschooling my daughter, and although were still at the preschool stage, Im already making plans and teaching her foundational basics in preparation for the future. She has grasped the alphabet, shapes, colors, and numbers pretty quickly thanks…

Isaac @ 6 Months

I did it again, waited until hes almost 7 months to get a post up. I cant believe how quickly time is passing seriously, I dont know how its going by so fast! At 6 months, Isaac is: Crawling like a little Speed Racer When he gets hurt he crawls to me and tries to climb up my legs, wanting to be comforted Drinking out of a sippy cup Eating flavored snack puffs for toddlers Pulling himself up to stand and walking along the couch Climbing on everything He Loves: To be cuddled To be rocked to sleep at night Mashed bananas, sweet potato, and rice cereal Crawling and especially when someone holds his hands and helps him walk Playing with his sister Noisy electronic toys (much to my consternation) Music and watching certain cartoons with his sister like Wonder Pets and Sesame Street Pulling books off the shelf, stuff…

New Natural Flavorful Coffee Creamer From Coffee-Mate

Theres a new creamer in town! Its called Coffee-Mate Natural Bliss and its exactly what I had been looking for! Ive been giving myself a guilt trip every time I add my beloved liquid coffee creamer to my coffee, but its not something I could give up. What made me feel guilty? Well, its fattening for one something I do not need. But it also doesnt have all natural ingredients. That doesnt always bother me, but when its something I drink every day without fail I know that I should go for the better alternative. Until now, however, there wasnt a better alternative unless you count regular milk or cream. But I didnt want that I wanted FLAVOR in my coffee! Im not one of those people who likes her coffee black. Call me a wimp, but thats not good coffee in my opinion. Okay, Ill admit it. I like…

A Very Extremely Exciting Charlie and Lola Giveaway! (Closed)

Now I dont look like I have twigs and chirrupy birds in my hair, Charlie! So says Lola after a dreaded (but successful) haircut. How cute is that? I absolutely LOVE Charlie and Lola, my friends. And so does my 3-year-old, though which one of us loves it more Im not entirely sure. It might be a tie. 😉 This show (and series of books!) is all about a wonderfully kind and patient big brother and his funny, super imaginative little sister. Does she get on his nerves? Of course, often. But I love the way problems are solved (usually in a comical way), and how much these kids love each other. One of the many reasons I love this series is the way these siblings treat other selflessly. Another reason this is a favorite is the English accents. I love accents, and the way the kids talk just adds…

Do You Have Sales Resistance? (I Don’t Apparently)

About a month ago I discovered that I have no sales resistance. Youd think that after watching the I Love Lucy episode, Sales Resistance, where Lucy gets taken advantage of by salesmen and totally learns her lesson the hard way that Id be invulnerable to salespeople. source In my defense, though, I was taken completely off guard. See, I dont do well when put on the spot, told to make an instant decision. Thats why door-to-door salespeople have a pretty good chance of getting me to buy something if they stop at my door. I really should put up a No Solicitors sign. So what happened? Well, it was early one morning at about 8 a.m. I actually had showered and done my hair by then, which NEVER happens. If I hadnt, I wouldnt have opened the door. Curse my strange energy that morning! At the time Im writing this,…

YA Book Review: Sleeping Beauty, Vampire Slayer

Sleeping Beauty, Vampire Slayer by Maureen McGowan Silver Dolphin Books April 2011 My Rating: (3/5) What Its About: You know the story of Sleeping Beauty, right? Well, this is the same tale, but a bit twisted. In this fairytale land, vampires exist. In fact, instead of being cursed by an evil fairy the Princess Lucette is cursed by a vampire queen. When she turns 16, as soon as her finger is pricked the entire kingdom will fall into a deep sleep every night, leaving her utterly alone. By day, she will sleep while her kingdom awakens, then the vicious circle will begin again. She will be doomed to this intensely lonely life until she finds and proves she is truly in love. Kind of a difficult feat when the whole of your kingdom is snoring. When Lucette, who has always wanted to be a vampire slayer (something that is unheard…

The Roly-Poly (WW)

I really didnt think Emma would be so into bugs, but shes very interested and has no qualms at all about hands-on learning! Awesome. 🙂 The only problem I had was convincing her that she needed to put Mimi back in his dirt home so he could be happy. He got quite a bit of handling from her. She figured out how to get him to roll up in a ball and carried him with her everywhere. It was so funny! And notice that cracker I was really afraid she would forget which hand her cracker was in and accidentally eat the bug. But she didnt, thankfully. Is anyone else having a buggy summer?
