Not too long ago I reviewed the Bumbo baby seat. At the time Isaac wasnt quite big enough for me to test it on him, so I tested it on a friends baby boy. By 2 1/2 months Isaac was sitting in the Bumbo by himself he loves it, especially since hes able to see everyones faces and participate in all our activities. In the mornings while Emma does her preschool lessons and crafts I put the Bumbo on the table and he watches everything she does. Its awesome! But lately hes started getting restless. He still loves the Bumbo but he must be teething because hes chewing on the side of it and wriggling his way almost out of it! I grew up in the country where dirt and bugs abound. I thought nothing of getting dirty and dusty it was all part of every day life work and play. Then I grew up, got married, and weve lived in the city for the last seven years. Its amazing how living in the city changes you! I didnt realize how dirt-phobic I was until my little girl started walking. Suddenly I felt myself cringing at the thought of her getting dirty. I had become lazy and didnt want to have to clean her off. Ive become a WIMP! And worse I brainwashed my kid into thinking that getting dirty is a bad thing! I was reading through a nursery rhyme book I have, The Real Mother Goose some are really sweet but some nursery rhymes are awful! Thats the end of this one, it just makes me wonder who made it up and whyyy, LOL. I bought a set of Do-a-Dot Markers from Zulily when they had them on sale about a month ago. They are SO great for preschoolers, let me tell you! Theyre washable, brilliant in color, and you can leave the caps off for the duration of a project without worrying about them drying out. Theyre versatile when it comes to design, too. Emma loves them and asks to dot paint often. Theyre perfect for school. I asked Emma to dot paint all of the big As one color and the little As another color and she did it! Did you know there are special coloring books especially made for Do-a-Dot coloring? I found these alphabet Do-a-Dot printable coloring pages (free) at Homeschool Creations. I decided it was the perfect time to plant some wildflower seeds I bought from the Target dollar section just for fun. Im not experienced when it comes to gardening at all but I would like to have some pretty flowering things around this summer. First we found some dirt and filled my pretty container Then I let Emma fill her new watering turtle can with water and water the flowers And this is when I completely gave up trying to grow something and let her play with the mud. Ive been planning and prepping for beginning preschool with Emma (she turns 3 next month!) for awhile now, doing research online and trying to find something that will make it fun for both of us. Yep, that title pretty much sums up our Easter. I had some plans for Easter but nothing ended up working out the way I wanted to, partly because I wasnt feeling well on Saturday and so prep for the holiday didnt happen. I didnt hard-boil any eggs, didnt plan an elaborate Easter dinner, and we didnt go on an Easter egg hunt. Its okay, I can get away with it for one more year while my kids are so young they dont realize they missed out. 😉 The day wasnt a total loss, though it will be memorable, thats for sure.
