Yesterday was a big day for Isaac. He was sitting in his Bumbo on the table while Emma ate her spaghetti dinner. He is so happy sitting with the family at the table that way its so cute! Usually he just smiles and chews his hand and coos at us. This time, though, he noticed something. The food. It smelled GOOD! It was so funny he looked like he was going to jump out of the Bumbo into Emmas spaghetti plate! He had this crazy focused expression as he stared at the food and wiggled in the Bumbo, trying to get to those delicious-looking noodles. My husband gave him a taste and he totally looked like he liked it, too. I would have preferred not to have his first food be spaghetti and meatballs but I guess you cant always have everything planned out, LOL. Anyway, Im starting to think…

I bought those little silicone muffin holders from Joanns last year with a coupon and I love them! So colorful they make me think of springtime. I noticed while perusing the blogs of moms of preschoolers that many of them separate snacks in muffin tins for their kids so I thought I would give it a try. It keeps food separated for picky eaters and is a fun way to present foods. Especially veggies! I just did bananas, strawberries, and vanilla yogurt to dip them in here, but she loved it. Its nice to have a different way to present food all Emma seems to want nowadays are oranges or fish crackers!
Weve been learning about size sequencing in Emmas preschool this week. This particular bus size sequencing activity comes from the Transportation Preschool Pack @ Homeschool Creations. I laminated the worksheet, cut out each bus, then we drove them in order of size. I did help her with this activity but shes learning! She knows which buses are the big ones and which is tiny. I think when youre first starting out it might be good to take out some of the buses and use maybe three of them, letting your little one put them in order of size. Emma LOVED this activity! We made little faces with different expressions and she demonstrated each one for me. 🙂 Happy! Sad! (She couldnt help but giggle a bit here) Surpriiiiiiiised! Thats a better version of surprised. 😉 Then theres mad which she did demonstrate but she always has a grin on her face while showing me MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD!. Then things got a little crazy. An eyeball fell off one little head and she thought it was the FUNNIEST thing ever. She collapsed into giggles and started making eyes and mouths fall off on purpose. Kids! What children dont like to pretend theyre running a shop? Especially if it involves sweets. 🙂 When my sister and I were kids, we used Monopoly money and became shopkeepers selling many wares. We would have loved something like this ice cream shop in a box from Learning Resources, Im sure! This imaginative role-playing toy set comes with four scoops of ice cream, two different types of cones, two ice cream dishes (one for a sundae and one for a banana split), a banana that splits into two pieces, two spoons, an ice cream scooper, an apron, a write-and-wipe menu card, and a chocolate syrup bottle that makes it look like youre really pouring chocolate syrup!
