A Few More Appliqued Onesies for Isaac…

I went to Joann Fabrics this morning and grabbed some fat quarters that were on sale so that I could start on some appliques for onesies. Ah, I love fabric stores! This is what I came up with: I bought these long-sleeved blank onesies from Fred Meyer and theyre so cute they have little pockets at the end of the sleeves that can be folded over the babys hands! I cant wait to take pictures of Isaac in them. 🙂 If youre interested in a tutorial for making your own appliqued onesies, heres mine: So Easy Appliqued Tee or Onesie Tutorial There are many more along with free patterns on the web, too just do a Google search! Due Date, Schmue Date (40 Weeks Today!) & Isaac’s Bassinet

Yep, today is the day the doctors said I would be DUE! Someone really needs to tell my body to get with it. I have everything all ready for little Isaac and my body is certainly ready. I went to my 40-week OB appointment yesterday and was checked, only to discover that Im about the same as my last appointment 80% effaced and 2 cm dilated. I was disappointed but I do realize that those numbers are meaningless when it comes to time. One thing I did do that Im not sure yet was a good idea or not was let my doctor strip my membranes. Oh my word, I had a miserable night last night! I thought I was going to go into labor for sure, my contractions were STRONG and I was feeling awful. I had one contraction I couldnt walk through right before bed so I told…

Baby Movement and Impending Labor (Question for you)

Isaac has been moving and kicking in the womb like CRAZY lately. There are times he will slow down and barely kick through a day, then there are days that I feel like crying because hes stretching and pushing on everything and it just hurts (its worse when Im more exhausted). Sometimes Im AMAZED my water doesnt break because hes pushing very strongly very LOW. I had two sleepless nights last week during which he kicked and pushed and moved nonstop from about 4 p.m. to 2 a.m., Im not kidding. The night before last was one of these nights, and I had strong, frequent contractions at the same time. I was sure I would go into labor, but of course I didnt I was wondering, do you remember if your baby was moving a lot or completely stopped moving right before you went into labor? I think it probably…

How do you feel about birth plans? Did you stick to yours?

Newborn Emma Today Im thinking about birth plans. I didnt have one at least not a written one when I went to the hospital to give birth to my daughter two years ago, mainly because my doctor didnt really want me to make one. He felt that it was better to go with the flow (his flow, I guess). I dont necessarily think thats a bad thing because you do have to be flexible. I mean, if you are adamant that you dont want a C-section but it becomes medically necessary, you have to be able to trust your doctor to be able to make the right decision for you, despite your desires. But if there is anything that is really important to you and you dont want to be unpleasantly surprised (like if you dont want an episiotomy no matter what) you should definitely make up a birth plan….

Guessing Physicians, Cute Bassinets, Waiting, & Other Random Thoughts

Three days till my due date and Im already saying Nope, didnt have the baby yet at the beginning of every conversation with people who dont see me on a daily basis, whether it be online, on the phone, or in person. I forgot about that part of the end of pregnancy. Not only is it hard for ME to wait, but apparently everyone else looks at you as a ticking time bomb as well. 😉 Since my appointment two weeks ago when my doctor told me she thought I might go into labor before a week was out, Ive decided physicians should be held responsible for getting their patients hopes up. Its just not right! I should sue for the week-long breathless excitement that turned slowly into bitter resentment. (Ha, just kidding) For my own sanity, Ive been TRYING to ignore the fact that Im getting closer and closer….

A Charlie Brown Valentine {DVD Review & Giveaway!}

The Peanuts gang is back for Valentines Day! And guess who is in love? Love is in the air as Charlie Brown and the rest of the Peanuts gang make plans to celebrate the upcoming Valentines Day holiday. Its the most romantic time of the year and everyone has big hopes of having their dreams of love and friendship fulfilled. Charlie Brown once again finds himself wishing he had the courage to ask the Little Red-Haired Girl to the dance. While he pines away for her, Peppermint Patty and Marcie do their best to woo him. Who is your favorite Peanuts character? I have quite a few favorites I love Snoopy and his teasing of Charlie Brown, Sally (Charlie Browns sister) and her unfortunately unreturned love of Linus, and Lucy is just hysterical to me with her overbearing attitude, short temper, and attempts to make money by giving out advice….

What Do You Think of the Second Season of V So Far?

Did you catch the season premiere of the second season of V on ABC last Tuesday? It was really something! This show keeps me on my toes, for sure. Anna (the totally freaky lizard leader of the Vs) is having a hard time proving herself to her fellow aliens after she let herself show emotions too human. Um, okay after seeing what she looks like beneath that charming human skin, nothing would surprise me. But I guess its just a case of the alien race thinking theyre better than the humans. In a fit of anger, she released the Red Sky (blood-red rain that would really make me feel contaminated if it ever touched me) on Earth and we get a hint as to what that is and what it might cause. It has something to do with their procreation Um, yuck! Oh, and then theres the Lisa/Tyler drama. That…
