Emma’s Adoration for Bath Time is at an All-Time High! {Tummy Tub Review}

I really wanted one of these for baby Isaac (due in January) when I first saw one. Its something Emma would have LOVED when she was a baby, too. Bathtime wasnt the most pleasant experience for her before she was strong enough to sit up independently, mainly because mommy kept putting her in a tub someone had given her that kept her lying down and didnt keep her body immersed in the warm water. Poor baby! But in my defense, its hard to wash your baby and keep them in the water at the same time at least it was in that particular tub design. Just look at that smile! Have you EVER seen such a glowing smile from my daughter? I dont think so! This is how much she loves bathtime with her Tummy Tub. For both myself and my 2-year-old, the Tummy Tub has made bathtime more fun….

Reliving Wonderful Disney Memories with Beauty and the Beast: The Diamond Edition!

I still remember the first time I saw Beauty and the Beast. The wonder, the magic, the fun I remember it all vividly. Ill always love certain Disney cartoons because of how I felt when I watched them, and Beauty and the Beast is a definite favorite because its one my mom loved the best. My dad even gave her a special collectible teapot for Christmas one year. We bought it as soon as it came out on VHS (wow, VHS) and watched it often. The Story: Set in and around a quaint French village during the late 18th century, Beauty and the Beast follows the fantastic adventures of Belle, a bright and beautiful young woman who finds escape from her ordinary life, and the advances of a boorish suitor, Gaston, by reading books. Meanwhile, off in a castle in the distance, a cruel young prince is cast under the…

Boudreaux’s Baby Products: Our Experience {With Giveaway Prize Package!}

Boudreauxs baby skincare products are usually pretty eye-catching. You can hardly miss the giant letters spelling out BUTT in the baby aisle. They are most popular for their Butt Paste Diaper Rash Ointment, a product that always makes me smile when I see it. I used to wonder, Who came up with that?. I had heard good things about it, but because I try to buy products with natural ingredients for my daughter, I hadnt purchased or had any experience with it myself. But guess what? They have a NEW All Natural Boudreauxs Butt Paste Diaper Rash Ointment! I knew when I saw that that it was time to give their products a try, and Im glad I did! The Test: My 2-year-old daughter is still in diapers and very rarely gets a rash but she was a little red and inflamed not too long ago, probably due to something…

My First Real Attempt At Planning Meals

Im no Lucy Ricardo. I have never planned meals. Can you believe it? Ive been married for six years and rarely have I been truly ready for mealtime. It didnt bother me until Emma was born, and then I started wishing for something different to be actually ready for dinner. I was tired of staring blankly into the refrigerator and wondering, What can I make for dinner? when my stomach was already growling. Not planning your meals is a sure way to keep you reliant on quick foods that arent necessarily good for you. We shop at Costco and so bought a lot of chicken pot pies, frozen meals, and mixes. We barbecued, and I ate a lot of rice (I actually love rice so this works for me but my husband doesnt care for it so its been different for him, lol). I also have become bored with making…

Autumn Tulle Owl Wreath Tutorial

Its Autumn! Time to pull out the pumpkins, wreaths, and other favorite Fall decorations. 🙂 I decided to make a wreath my first time putting one together myself. It was a blast to make and I love the way it turned out! I was inspired by this tutorial but decided to go with an autumn theme instead of Halloween. I did love the feathery boa idea though and decided to incorporate that in mine. Heres how I made it and what materials I used: Note: Many of these things can be purchased at the dollar store! 6-inch width tulle by the spool (I REALLY recommend buying by the spool) from BBCrafts (I used red, orange, black, and chocolate brown) Wreath form from Michaels (Styrofoam would probably be best but this one was straw) ($5.00) Pre-made orange ribbon from Michaels ($2.00) 6-foot feather boa from Michaels ($1.99) Owl from Michaels ($2.50…

The Dyson DC-31 Animal Handheld Vacuum: It’s TRUE LOVE, Folks! {A Mom’s Review}

Oh NO!!!! If you were a fly on the wall at my house, youd hear me wail these words at least twice a week maybe three times. You see, I have a toddler. And she makes messes. A LOT of messes, and usually involving massive amounts of cheerio/cracker/bread crumbs. On my rug. And since chips and dip is a favorite for both Emma and my husband, there tend to be chip fragments in various places on the rug. Oh, AND Emma is a mobile eater, meaning that she likes to eat while running around and climbing on the furniture. A recipe for a constant mess, wouldnt you agree? Now if we had an actual dining room with a linoleum or wood floor, this wouldnt be a problem. But our house is small and our dining room table is on a rug. So whether we eat at the table or not…

The Secret of Moonacre is a Fantastic Family Fantasy! (Review)

I hope you and your kids (of any age) are ready for this beautiful tale The Secret of Moonacre. I just saw it and all I can say is wow! It is visually stunning, over-the-top imaginative, and just fun. I loved all of the actors and the story kept my attention for the entire duration of the movie. Verdict? I loved it! Ill have to admit that having Ioan Gruffudd and a host of other favorite actors and actresses was a big reason that I decided I had to see it in the first place. Ioan Gruffudd from Fantastic Four, King Arthur, & Horatio Hornblower Also Tim Curry, Juliet Stevenson, and Natascha McElhone made this movie great. But you need to hear the story. Its full of imagination, completely unpredictable, and really just the type of story I love. Apparently the whole movie is based on a book by Elizabeth…

I Made My First Tutu! (With Pictures)

Im rather proud of this lovely creation. I made it, and it was so much easier than I had expected! Its extremely twirlable. And a great photo prop! Make it into a Halloween costume by: Adding wings of some type Making the tutu in colors to coordinate with whatever theme youre thinking about (ladybug, etc) Adding face paint A quick in-progress pic so you can see where I started. Having the elastic around my thigh kept it all in place and kept it even. And a close-up of the matching tulle hair clip I made to match the tutu. You can get a free video lesson here on how to make a tutu its the one I followed! Miss Tutu also has a DVD showing you how to make 15 different styles of tutus, and Im giving a copy away here!
