Field of Vision Premiers Saturday! (P&G Family Movie Night)

The newest P&G Family Movie Night movie is Field of Vision, premiering on Saturday, June 11 on NBC at 8 p.m. Eastern time! I was really excited about this one we love sports-related, family-friendly movies! Field of Vision is a bit of fantasy and sports drama and for kids and teens, and is about a troubled young transfer student and football player, Cory Walker, who is being bullied by other guys on the football team. Tyler McFarland, the star quarterback, finds out in a very strange way and finds himself with a choice to make will he turn his teammates in so they can win or stand up for Cory? Tylers younger sister is involved, too. This imaginative young girl has found an old broken camcorder that shows her fantastic things. Unfortunately, no one (not even her family) believes that the things she says she sees are real. Ultimately, she…

Naptime Nanny Storybook CD Review

A recent addition to my daughters CD collection is this set of three Naptime Nanny CDs. Theres a cool story behind the creation of this collection of childrens stories for quiet time. It was a preschool teacher who first decided that a CD full of stories would be perfect for nap time some children were a little too old for sleeping during that time but would still benefit from rest. Music was nice, but stories had the best results. So Naptime Nanny came into existence and Im so glad! I tested these out on my 3-year-old daughter, wondering if she would be able to concentrate on them. There are times throughout the day I try to have her play quietly in her room and music or stories on CD are the best way to keep her contented for periods of time. I was delighted to find that she was interested…

When Did You Start Feeding Your Baby Solid Food?

Isaac is 4 months and 1 week old and hes got a craving for rice cereal! Would anyone like to share with me when you started feeding baby foods, why, and what did you feed? I tried carrots first but he didnt seem too thrilled with that. For now were sticking with rice cereal because he seems to really like it. Not feeding every day but on those days when he seems to not be getting enough and is really interested in what were eating. I think the next thing Ill try will be sweet potatoes when hes eating a little more regularly. 🙂

BUGS by Mister G (Children’s Music Review)

Emma absolutely loves music, so Im constantly on the lookout for new childrens music. Sometimes I go for silly songs and sometimes more educational I like to have a good variety. Our latest find is BUGS by Mister G, a fun-filled silly song fest with humorous songs for kids about having pizza for breakfast, brothers and sisters, friends, sharks in the bathtub, and (of course) bugs! Emma, my 3-year-old daughter, is a definite fan of this album. Bugs is our special favorite, but we enjoy all of the songs. What child doesnt like to sing about snow days and the merits of grilled cheese? The tunes are catchy and most of them are upbeat enough that Emma likes to dance and sing along with them. Bugs is the most fun for us because weve been studying bugs for preschool. I love to tease Emma that she has bugs in her…

ChicBuds DJ Sport Headphones Review

Do you use headphones? I find myself needing a set of padded headphones like these from ChicBuds every once in awhile, generally when I need to focus on something (like blogging, perhaps?) and block the sounds around me with some classical music. We live in a small house so having a chance to stop and focus on any one thing without something in the background distracting me is difficult! I think most tweens and teens would be delighted to own a set that looks like these. I admit that Im enjoying feeling like Im stylin as I sit in my living room working away, though and Im way past teen-age. 😉 I have the multi-colored DJ sport headphones and am pleased with the way they look, fit, and feel! They are comfortable to wear and because theyre adjustable, my husband can wear them, too (though he would probably rather die…

Neutrogena Wet Skin Sunblock – Highly Recommended!

Does anyone else think that sunscreen is a total pain? What kid wants to stop having fun to think about keeping his skin from burning in the sun? Most kids dont think about it thats what moms are for! But trying to get your child to stand still while you slather stinky creams on and try to cover every area that could burn isnt easy. Especially if you, like me, have two children under 4 who are wiggle worms and dont even understand the concept of sun danger! I received the four Neutrogena Wet Skin Sunblock products with Helioplex Technology you see in the photo above to try out and share my thoughts about here. One is meant especially for kids, and the rest are different SPF levels. But what makes them different from the many of the other sunscreen products on the market is the fact that they can…

Who Will Get the New Computer Desk?

This post is for my husband. He doesnt read my blog as a habit but this is one post Im going to make sure he doesnt miss because well, Ive had enough! This man needs a new computer desk. Correction. He needs a real computer desk because what hes using now is a regular desk not meant for a computer! Believe it or not there is no keyboard tray and no place for the actual computer to go (it sits on top of the desk in a corner) but he still uses it. A lot. He does college online and has to be on it often. The Evidence: Johns Computer Desk It cant be comfortable, but he never complains! Thats because hes so easygoing not a complainer. Nice, right? I think this man deserves a newer, nicer place to put his computer. Oh, did you notice the chair? That seat…

Painting the Sidewalk (Cheap & Easy Summer Activity)

I just love sunny days, dont you? Today we tried something Ive been wanting to do but the weather hasnt been cooperating. Thats what living in a state known for its constant rain (but beautiful green foliage) does to you it makes you appreciate sunny days like never before! So heres what we did. Painted our patio! This is the COOLEST (and cheapest) paint ever its just equal parts cornstarch and water with food coloring added. It dries looking just like sidewalk chalk and is a lot of fun to paint with! I found this recipe here. We experimented a bit. We splattered paint and it looked really cool! Emma decided to try painting with her hands. I dont recommend this since it doesnt wash off as well as I had hoped (food coloring, duh). We tried painting rocks. Then I was distracted by a rather loud songbird on our…

Share Your Experience With Baby Bath Tubs!

I dont remember having much trouble bathing Emma when she was a baby. I used one of those tubs with a mesh sling hanging over it and since she loved bath time it never occurred to me to try a different tub. Emma as a baby: My second baby, Isaac, isnt a lover of bath time. Ive been through two different tubs with him in the four months since he came into this world and hes rejected them both with bloodcurdling screams and thrashing limbs. By the time bath time is over my shoulders are killing me and my nerves shot. For awhile I just wiped him down with warm washcloths in the living room on a towel to avoid the drama and trauma (on both of us). Rejected Bathtub #1: In the very beginning I tried a fold-up mesh seat, and he was okay with that for a short…
