Today I want to introduce you to The Classic Nursery Rhymes Collection, a popular movie that came out on VHS in 1982 (a year before I was born!). It was very popular with both the US and UK, and I can see why this is without a doubt the sweetest collection of nursery rhymes Ive ever come across! My 3-year-old daughter Emma and I watched it together and she absolutely loved it! She asks to watch it almost every day, and I dont mind in the least letting her. It has almost every old nursery rhyme you can think of, all of the ones you will want your little one to know. Some are acted out by real little children (Emma loved that) or puppets, and some are animated. Theres always someone in the background reading out the rhyme, whether its children or an adult. We just had to show off this fun taggie football I made for Isaac. 🙂 He thinks its pretty cool! Emma has been playing with it, too, so I decided I need to make her a girlie version. Probably without the tags. I like this as an alternative to the balls she throws around that tend to knock things over. Yay for light and stuffed! I saw this activity over at Irresistible Ideas for Play-Based Learning and LOVED the idea so of course had to give it a try myself. Its basically heating rocks in an oven and then coloring on them with crayons, so easy! I wondered about the wisdom of letting my 3-year-old daughter handle extremely hot rocks, but gave it a try anyway. It just looked like so much fun! I had Emma do it all. First we gathered rocks, looking in particular for flat ones. We put them in the tray that came with our toaster oven and baked them at 450 for 15 minutes. Then we took them outside and dumped them into the concrete. We moved into a very, very small house a little over a year ago. It has been the cause of my home decorating woes, let me tell you. One of the things Ive had to do without is a coffee table or end table because there really seems to be no room at all for one. Just what we dont need is something else to have to bump into walk around. But lately I started perusing the IKEA magazines for home decorating ideas (they are geniuses at decorating small spaces!) and have found that it IS possible! Isaac is 5 months today! Hes such a sweet little guy, I feel so blessed to have him! I can hardly belieeeeve how expressive he is. I love seeing his thoughts, the way his expressions change so fast. So many times throughout the day I wonder What is he thinking? This is such a fun age. 🙂
Have you ever tried a stainless steel cleaner? Before being chosen to be a part of Mom Centrals Affresh blog tour, I hadnt! I didnt even know there were cleaners especially made to make your stainless steel appliances shine. I was perfect for the campaign, though, since most of my appliances ARE stainless steel including my microwave, toaster oven, and blender. I also have canisters with stainless steel lids as seen in the photo on the left. If you have anything in your kitchen that is stainless steel, you know that this surface is super shiny and sharp-looking when you first buy it. But after awhile it doesnt look so hot. Its like a fingerprint magnet, and every bit of dirt is easily seen. Its hard to clean, and its hard to keep it looking nice. I had actually decided I didnt want anything else stainless steel in the future….

Clara Nilles is the artist behind these fun, colorful animal prints. Ive fallen in love with them! Clara paints sea life, African animals, farm animals shes not afraid to tackle anything! Im an avid animal lover, but I never thought of having crabs on my wall.
