The Odyssey Pop-Up Book from Sterling Publishing! This book is sooo gorgeous and surprisingly detailed from the illustrations to the pop-ups. It isnt just a pop-up book, though, it also features sliders and other fun things to be revealed inside. One of my favorite pop-up scenes is a huge ship in the middle of the book: and then theres the awesome Trojan Horse: Both of these scenes are incredibly detailed! I know I keep saying that, but I was really impressed. The Trojan Horse even has a little door you pull up and it reveals the men inside: I hate to admit this, but if I ever read The Odyssey in school, I dont remember it. In fact, I had to get two push toys just so they wouldnt fight over this one! Farmer Fred gives kids a chance to learn to button one shoulder strap, secure with velcro on the other shoulder strap, zip and unzip his fanny pack (on his stomach), buckle one of his shoes, and tie his other shoe. I vividly remember enjoying specialty sausages and cheeses from Hickory Farms with my dad as a child at Christmastime. He absolutely loved them (and still does!) and took much relish in cutting and arranging slices upon crackers and serving them to my sister and me. Such a fun memory! I didnt realize that Hickory Farms had such a wide range of gift baskets until recently when I browsed their website.
