In four days, Ill officially be at the 12-week mark in my pregnancy and entering the second trimester! Its been a bit of an ordeal so far. From the time I found out I was pregnant again Ive dealt with some degree of nausea. The first few weeks it wasnt so bad, but about the second month of my pregnancy I had severe nausea lasting all day and night. I didnt even get off the couch, it was that bad. Now, in my third month, Im handling it much better. Its still a strange pattern in fact, my morning sickness is actually evening sickness. At about 6 p.m every night without fail I begin feeling sick and cant stomach anything. I cant wait for bedtime because sleep = sweet relief from feeling like Im going to lose something. Everything. Then I wake up feeling great in the morning. Isnt that…
Up until now, I hadnt listened to much of Sarah McLachlans music beyond what I heard on the radio. So when I was invited to review her new album, Laws of Illusion, it was only natural that I decline politely. But something about the album caught my attention (probably the beautiful cover art), and I decided to listen to a sample song first. And I absolutely loved what I heard! I decided to accept and waited eagerly for the review copy of Laws of Illusion to arrive at my home so that I could listen to the entire CD. I wasnt disappointed in the rest of the music. The songs on this new album are enchanting and a pleasure to listen to. I love the lyrics, too they are pure poetry! One of my favorite songs is Illusions of Bliss. Its one that Ive been listening to over and over…
Imagine my delight when I discovered that by using the search term LibriVox in the iTunes Store, I came across the free audiobook motherload! These books are read by volunteers and then released into the public domain so that anyone can listen to them. I am SO excited about this! I read nonstop as a child and teenager, but once I got married and my daughter was born, I found that my time to read was almost nonexistent. Gone were the late-night reading binges I drop into bed at 10:30 p.m. and fall asleep immediately. Audiobooks are perfect for a busy mom like me who feels guilty sitting on the couch and reading when there is so much to do. A book Ive always wanted to read but havent been able to get through yet is The Story Girl by L.M. Montgomery. Well, yesterday I started listening to The Story…
I recently was given the opportunity to try Doves new line of hair care products, Dove Damage Therapy. This line includes the Dove Intensive Repair Shampoo and Conditioner System, Dove Daily Treatment Conditioner, and the Dove Damage Therapy System (formulated for specific hair types). Heres what makes Doves Damage Therapy products so awesome: Fiber Actives penetrate deep inside the hair strand to help reconstruct damaged proteins. It helps strengthen hair against breakage, split ends, dry, unmanageable hair, lack of body and even static. The patented Micro Moisture serum targets damage where hair needs it most, helping to repair the surface of hair by sealing lifted cuticles to help protect against future damage. It targets damaged hair by depositing gel-phase conditioning, cationic polymers and fine silicone droplets in an even layer, leaving hair with a more conditioned, clean feel without weighing it down. Watch this Dove video, youll love it! My…
My two-year-old is obsessed with dogs. Last night I took her to the park and someone brought their furry canine friend with them Emma went nuts! Dog was one of her first words, and even as a baby she would crawl as fast as she could after dogs in the park. I feel bad that we havent yet lived in a place that allows dogs, so I try to make up for that by getting her cuddly stuffed puppies and books featuring her favorite animal. Lately we were able to review a couple fun books from Abrams Books for Young Readers that we loved! Sallys Great Balloon Adventures by Stephen Huneck Hardcover, 32 pages Four Hearts: When Sallys family visits a hot air balloon field, the loyal black Labrador retriever is tempted by the smell of fresh chicken coming from one of the balloons. She follows the delicious scent to…
Although I looove crafts and creating in general and have been sharing sewing tutorials for awhile now, Im a beginner myself when it comes to sewing. Ive only ever done smaller sewing projects as a teen, and I tended to let my mom do most of it. You know, all the hard stuff. But guess what? My mom gave me her sewing machine (because shes moving and because she loves me) and Ive been teaching myself to sew the last few days! Ive had a blast with it, too. I thought I might be too impatient, but Im enjoying it so far. 🙂 I attended a good friends baby shower today and I was hoping to be able to make her some nice gifts. I made her two appliqued onesies one with her little baby-to-bes first initial on it and the other with a super cute tie on it. I…

I was going to wait to share this until my confirmation ultrasound on Friday, but honestly Im so nauseated and feeling very pregnant and starting to look pregnant there can be no doubt. Wow, so many thoughts running through my head lately: How will I take care of a newborn and a 2 1/2 year old (and stay sane?)? I have so much to prepare for! How will Emma feel about this little brother/sister? If its a boy, I have to buy a lot of stuff. lol I dont know anything about little boys! (Growing up, I had one sister) I cant believe Im pregnant again and going to get HUGE! I believe Im at 6 1/2 weeks now. I have been SO sick for the last two weeks I have barely been able to get anything done, and being on the computer has made me feel even worse. But…
