I discovered Boutique NRF New York and met Alev, the talented seamstress and designer behind it all, earlier in the year while browsing Etsy for boutique dresses for girls. Alevs creations are, simply put, breathtaking. Especially her beautiful applique dresses and flirty tops they truly inspire and never fail to put a smile on my face. I follow Alevs blog faithfully and love to see her new designs when theyre released I only wish I could buy them all! In June, I interviewed Alev and reviewed an applique dress she custom-made for Emma. I was so happy with Emmas dress, and I had her wear it for as long as possible because it was our favorite. Sadly, its too small for her now I can only hope that my next child is a girl so that I can dress up another little one in Emmas dress! 😉 My sadness over…
I Bamboosa! Ive worked with Bamboosa before, reviewing a number of their very luxurious bamboo baby items, and I am totally sold on the bamboo material and Bamboosa. Now that my daughter has a variety of bamboo items, I thought it was time to find out how the clothing for adults is! Thats a nice way of saying I was dead jealous of my daughters soft and silky bamboo stuff. 😉 So I decided to give the Womens Long-Sleeve Priya Boatneck Yoga Top a try. Here I am, modeling the top I absolutely love the color, dont you? Its perfect for the holidays! There are a variety of colors available, something I really appreciate. All of the colors are beautiful and I like that they have earthy tones available. I usually go for earthy, but I thought I should branch out and be brave this time. 😉 And it paid…
When I was a kid, about 10, my grandma (now gone) gave me a very cool Christmas present. One of the most thoughtful she ever gave me, actually. It was a personalized adventure book starring me! I went on an adventure with Santa Claus and my sister, and I was enthralled. Theres nothing more fun than personalization, in my opinion. That personalized book is the only present I remember my grandma getting me, and I know she sent us something every Christmas. That tells me something people remember special gifts that show you put some thought into it. Especially back then (waaay back then 16 years ago), personalized books werent that popular. I hadnt even heard of them, so it was a total treat to receive one. When I was given the opportunity to review a personalized book from YourPictureBook.com for my daughter, I was excited. Mostly because this is…
FIFA Soccer 10 for the Wii is now available! This release has some great enhancements and additions like 360-degree dribbling and online multi-player mode, and is being heralded as a great game for children and adults alike.FIFA Soccer 10 was made so that those who play it have a realistic soccer gameplay experience. Here are some of the specifics according to the EA website: On the pitch, critical gameplay fundamentals have been enhanced to ensure that FIFA Soccer 10 mirrors real-world soccer, providing more sophisticated ball control, and physical interaction. On attack, players now analyze space more effectively, curve their runs in an attempt to stay onside, create passing lanes naturally, and drive for more variety in attacking options. On defense, new concepts like position priority enable defenders to multitask so dangerous spaces left open by teammates out of position are covered. Plus, slide tackle targeting, press marking, and better…

They have a nice variety of front carriers that are designed to cater to a moms specific needs, and it was obvious to me from my first visit to their website that it is very important to them that their customers find the perfect baby carrier for their lifestyle. Baby carrier shopping can be overwhelming, right? Well, BabyBjorn takes the work out of it! Ive recently been introduced to Wonderfully Made Boutique, a mom-owned Etsy shop specializing in all styles of bows, flowers, and accessories! Youll find korker bows, pinwheel bows, boutique bows, and something I was especially pleased to discover because it was entirely new to me stackable bows! Above is an example of a stackable bow two bows that can be stacked together to add dimension and fun, but can also be worn separately! Stacking is really easy, too you just slide the alligator clip of the smaller bow through the center of the bigger bow. Such a cool idea! Sarah, the creator of these bows, is super nice and very conversation-friendly. She loves to get custom requests from her customers and especially enjoys making bows that will coordinate with a special outfit! The customer just sends a photo of the outfit they want their bows to match, and Sarah works her…
What goes through your head when you think about growth charts? I have nostalgic images in my mind of notches carved into doors or slabs of wood, happy little people bounding to the measuring place and checking to see how much theyve grown in the last month, two weeks, or five minutes. The pride in their faces. Theres something about being able to see the growth that makes it special. I think we did that when I was a child, but we moved around so much that there was no point in making marks on the wall or door, and any slabs of wood would have been lost in the moves. There are other alternatives, though! Paper, which wont last long and fabric. Fabric is the option I would have chosen, but I wasnt sure how it could be done, and frankly I hadnt seen a nice fabric chart that…
