Despicable Me AWESOME Prize Pack Giveaway (5 Winners!)

Have you seen Despicable Me yet? It is SUCH a cute movie! I just saw it for the first time on DVD recently and we all (my husband and two-year-old daughter included) loved it! Its funny, its characters are endearing (all of them!), and its totally unpredictable definitely entertaining. 🙂

In a happy suburban neighborhood surrounded by white picket fences with flowering rose bushes, sits a black house with a dead lawn. Unbeknownst to the neighbors, hidden deep beneath this home is a vast secret hideout. Surrounded by an army of tireless, little yellow Minions, we discover Gru (Steve Carell), planning the biggest heist in the history of the world. He is going to steal the moon. Yes, the moon!

Gru delights in all things wicked. Armed with his arsenal of shrink rays, freeze rays and battle-ready vehicles for land and air, he vanquishes all who stand in his way. Until the day he encounters the immense will of three little orphaned girls who look at him and see something that no one else has ever seen: a potential Dad.

One of the worlds greatest super-villains has just met his greatest challenge: three little girls named Margo, Edith and Agnes.

I think what I liked the most about this movie was the sweet relationship developing between the three orphan girls and Gru. The littlest girl is totally adorable, the middle feisty, and the oldest takes care of them all. Their initial delight at being adopted is dampened a bit when they see who theyve been adopted by, but they all grow closer anyway. Thats something any child (and his or her parents) can appreciate. 🙂

A note to moms: There is a bit of gross humor that I thought was totally unnecessary to the movie, like one of the minions photocopying his bare behind and one of the villains rubbing a keyboard over his rear just stupid behavior but possibly not something youd want your child imitating. So there could potentially be discussion with your kids about what is acceptable. However, these parts are passed over quickly and theres so much going on you dont really dwell on it. Its worth watching still!
