Guidecraft Animal Train Sort and Match Review {Giveaway Closed}

Im a definite lover of the Guidecraft toy and furniture brand. I have a step stool made by Guidecraft and was very impressed with the quality when I received it. My step stool was better in every way than the pictures and description on the website portrayed, making me one very happy customer!

Our Experience with the Guidecraft Animal Train Sort and Match

Thanks to Guidecraft, Emma received the Animal Train Sort and Match for review. This set of toys is unique in that your child is able to take an image card and attempt to complete the picture on the white board with the magnetic train and animal pieces. The set includes 6 double-sided pattern cards, 43 animal and train pieces, the wooden storage case, and a self-propping white board with pegs for setting up the patterns on.

There are so many reasons I like this game, the main one being that its educational and will grow with Emma. Shes 2 1/2 and enjoys it immensely, mainly because she can create any patterns she wants. Its a favorite with her because not only is she a lover of animals, she also is very interested in trains. So two of her interests in one playset! But what makes me happy is that shes learning as she plays. I can ask her about colors, types of animals, shapes, and even numbers.

More Learning Opportunities

This is really a great playset for encouraging creativity, pattern-matching, color-matching, and shape-matching, and you could even use it as a memory builder for older children by showing them a card and then hiding the pattern and seeing what they can remember. Seriously, the possibilities are endless. What I really love about this is that its a brain-stimulating learning game, not just another toy. In purchasing something like this, you know you are doing your child good. 🙂

Toy Quality and Presentation:

Everything in this set is made to last. The storage box is made of wood and the pieces are strong plastic. Weve had this for two months and nothing has fallen apart or even been scratched. As far as the presentation and play, I love the way they have this set up! Youd expect that with all of those pieces it would be too easy to have them scatter everywhere, but even Emma has been very good about putting everything back in the box and putting it away because its all right there. While playing, all of the pieces can stay in the roomy wooden case, then when youre done you just dump the pieces back into the case and slide the wooden lid on. Very nice.
