Etsy Shop Feature & GIVEAWAY! Moody Sisters and their Famous Organic Nursing & Baby Balm

Im all about going organic as much as possible when it comes to skincare, especially for my kids! I first started looking for an alternative to our skincare products when Emma was a baby and I discovered that the diaper rash cream I had been buying for her had unsafe, unnatural ingredients in it. I always thought that anything on the store shelves in America that was packaged for tiny babies would naturally be the gentlest and safest products around, but I did some research that sadly proved that wrong. So todays natural organic recommendation is Moody Sisters Organic Nursing & Baby Balm from Moody Sisters, a shop run by two sisters! Used for chapped skin, cracked heels, soreness after breastfeeding, and rashy baby bottoms, this is a GREAT all-around balm to have on hand. All of the ingredients are listed right on the lid: Coconut oil, Shea butter, Sunflower…

Here’s What’s Happening in Our Neck of the Woods…

Its been awhile since I shared what weve been up to around here, mainly because this summer has just been jammed packed with busyness! Now that September is here Im hoping things will slow down. 🙂 I know, good luck with that with a 4-year-old and a 20-month-old in the house right? Well, first on the list I got a new camera! And its a BIG deal for me because its a DSLR, my first! Im still so tickled pink to have it. Ive always loved photography and did my best with my last camera, but was so frustrated with the quality of the photos I would get that I wanted to cry after taking pictures some days. That moment when flipping through the photos I just uploaded on the screen and saw so many potentially nice shots that ended up blurry just filled me with disappointment. And that camera…

Quick Toy Recommendation: InfiniToy’s ZOOB Building Set!

This is the most asked-for toy in our household for the last month! Emma received a set of these for her 4th birthday a few months ago and shes been asking to play with them every day. That tells me its worth recommending. 🙂 There are so many ways to play with them! Younger children like Emma can just snap them together and it becomes a mass of moveable, flexible craziness Emma has also put them together by color and the result is very cool they expand and make clicking noises. Shes enjoyed trying different things and seeing what she can make with them. At 4 Emma is just strong enough to snap these together, but any younger and you would have to help your child. So keep that in mind when buying for toddler and preschool age. 🙂 A cool addition to each package of Zoob sets you buy…

(Giveaway) Learning to Read With Reading Kingdom – How It’s Working For My Preschooler

I feel lucky. My daughter Emma (4) loves learning to read. She has been known to sit down with a book and try to sound out words all on her own with no prodding from mommy! Shes kind of at an in-between point right now when it comes to being able to read, though she can actually write and spell some shorter words if I tell her to sound it out but when it comes to sounding out a word on paper it doesnt come quite as easily maybe because its overwhelming with all those words sitting there staring at her. But were definitely progressing! Practice makes perfect, right? Despite her enthusiasm, she can still get frustrated so I keep her lessons short and sweet and fun. 🙂 I like to give her different learning activities every day, changing it up so she wont get bored. One of our favorite…
