Emma ♥ Six Months Old Today

Today Emma is six months old. Can you believe it? Half a year already! Its been quite a ride so far and Ive loved every minute of it! Okay well, maybe not every minute but in general Ive loved it all. 🙂 I, who didnt think I was really a baby person (baby person = someone who gravitates naturally toward babies and children and has babies and children gravitate naturally toward them), absolutely LOVE being a mommy! Im sure some of you are saying, Give it a few years Well, loving Emma as a little person is part of why I love being her mommy. Ill weather the storm, I know. Well make it through the teething, the terrible twos, the potty training well just start with that. Thats enough, isnt it? Im not ready to think about teenage years. 😉 Here are some pictures of Emma helping helping John…

Did you have a birth plan?

After posting on the ridiculous Delivery Couture ($98 for a gown to wear while birthing your child), I started thinking about birth plans. A little over five months ago I was still pregnant and thinking about these things. I personally was trying to be flexible when it came to a birth plan because I heard that the best thing was to not worry too much and to be ready to go with the flow. But I still found myself with a miniature plan: I did buy a special nursing gown (from Motherhood Maternity, and on sale so it was significantly cheaper and not near as chic, lol as the $98-dollar one). I planned on wearing it during the birth so I wouldnt feel like a patient. I bought a yoga ball to hopefully help ease the contractions. I had heard it helped some people Our hospital actually had a little…

Something Im not used to when it comes to dresses I generally avoid them like the plague. I will tolerate skirts, but Im still not comfortable in them. Its not that I dont like the way dresses look. Its that they look better on other women! Anyway, Im thinking of going back to get this, but I dont really know where Id wear it. Well, I would wear it to church, but our church is so laid back that most people wear jeans. And if I can wear jeans, why would I wear a dress? lol This is a conundrum. Maybe itll go on clearance soon. 😉 If I did buy…

Walking Through Target – Owls Everywhere!

I found the shirt Im wearing in this picture at Target in the sleepwear section for five dollars! Sweeet! Have you seen the owl trend out there right now? I walked through Target yesterday with Emma in tow and drooled over the owly goodness everywhere! I even gave in and bought Emma a stuffed owl and owlie hat. What can I say? I held it in front of her and she reached out her pudgy little fingers and though she couldnt form words with her lips, her eyes beseeched me 😉 John says no more shopping with baby. *grin* What he expects me to do with her is a mystery to me. I cant very well leave her home alone, can I? I cant help it that she loves to shop! 🙂 Anyway, I saw clothes (both mommy and baby), bathroom decor, kitchen towels and potholders, slippers, art it was…

Wailing Wednesday

Emma Shes learned to grab the side of her swing to stop it. *sniff* I remember the days when I first bought that swing and it was the only thing that soothed her cries, she would sleep for hours in there. And she was totally helpless and couldnt hold her head up long. Wasnt that last week? Goodness, this goes by fast! Okay, Wordless Wednesday just turned into Wailing Wednesday. lol Playing with her soft blocks 🙂 See, there are good things ahead! I mourn the fact that her infanthood is but a memory, but I know there are fun times ahead, too. And teething. And potty training. 😉

With Endless Sight reviewed

With Endless Sight by Allison Pittman (From back cover) Belleville, Illinois and Wyoming Territories, 1861. Born into a life of privilege, fourteen-year-old Belinda never questions her security, even as she leaves Illinois with her family to discover new adventures in the Oregon Territory. But when disaster falls, Belinda is left wounded, weak, and alone. Her faith in God gives her the only strength she knows in a harsh new world. Belindas journey takes her to a snow-covered mining camp and a red-roofed brothel in the Wyoming mountains, but not before she must spend a lonely winter with the man who took away the life she knew. Throughout the grief and hope of a strange land, Belinda must decide if her faith is big enough to allow her to forgive. My take: This book had me spellbound. I love the way Allison Pittman gives life to her characters and With Endless…
